What is localization?

Localization (L10n) is the term used when a product is introduced to another country. It is not simply a case of translating text into the language of the intended country, but a way of marketing the product to the target audience of the country. When localizing a product, you adapt the text into the language and the culture of the intended country.

There are many reasons why you should get your product localized. Most importantly:

You open the door on new markets and revenue streams!

Our goal is to help you increase sales and profits by offering an easy way to get your software and related text translated into many languages.

Your benefit: We know the Scandinavian market and cultures – and we speak the languages.

What is the difference: Globalization?

Globalization is the process of designing and developing applications that are meant to be used in multiple cultures. Localization is the process of customizing your application for a given culture and locale.

Internationalization (I18n) is planning and implementing products and services so that they can easily be localized for specific languages and cultures.

This process requires a combination of both international and technical expertise, and generally involves both deploying new systems and reengineering existing ones.

Once the internationalized platform is in place, rollouts in new countries or cultures should be significantly more cost efficient, timely and market effective.
